‘Thupparivalan 2‘ is the sequel to the Tamil hit ‘Thupparivalan‘ directed by Miskin. Actor Vishal, who played the lead role in the first part of Tamil hit Thupparivalan, has announced that Thupparivalan 2 will begin shooting in London next month, followed by April. Vishal said via social media that the identification will be done in January and the actual shooting of the much-awaited investigative thriller will begin in April. the movie was released in theaters on 12 August 2023. The music of the film is scored by Ilaiyaraja while the cinematography is handled by Nirav Shah. A part of the sequel was shot in London, directed by Myskkin, who made the first part. Unfortunately, Vishal and Mysskin had a conflict over over budget and salary which grew, and Mysskin opted out of the film.

Vishal played the role of a private detective in Mysskin’s directorial ‘Thupparivalan’, and he is set to reprise the character Kaniyan Poongundran he played. In a recent interview with a popular Tamil magazine, Vishal has said that Mysskin’s laziness is the reason behind the losses he incurred while shooting for Thupparivaalan 2.
The action spy thriller ‘Thupparivaalan 2’ stars Vishal in the lead role, while Prasanna, Rahman, Munna Simon, and Adithya Menon play supporting roles. Actor Prasanna played Manohar, Kaniyan’s associate who helps him with his case, a character very close to Sherlock’s partner Dr Watson. Vishal further has added that when Mysskin directed the film, his brother also played an important role. But Mysskin has now told that his brother will not act in the film and so he has rewritten the script.

It is known that after accalimed director Mysskin, who was originally helming Vishal-starrer ‘Thupparivalan 2’ walked out of the project following disagreement over the film’s budget, actor Vishal himself stepped up to direct the film. Now, the latest news is that shooting of the film which will mark Vishal’s directorial debut, will resume in January 2022.
The film’s success led to Vishal and Miskin teaming up for the second time for the sequel. Work on Thuparivaalan 2 began in Bristol, UK, but a tiff between the actor and the director led to the project being abandoned. After this development, Vishal himself decided to direct Thupparivalan 2. But the filming was stopped due to the pandemic. Now the actor has announced that the shooting will resume in April next year.
Vishal also has Veerame Vaagai Sudu. Directed by Tu Pa Saravanan, the film stars Vishal opposite Dimple Hayati. The film was originally slated to release this month, but the theatrical release has reportedly been postponed to January 26 next year.
